Matt Gunn

Matt is a 1970 Quarter horse and was the very first resident at the farm once the barn was built and belonged to my husband before he and I met..  He has always answered the questions asked of him.   My husband wanted to teach him to drive, so at the age of 14 he learned to pull a cart.  We showed him until 1987 and he was the Virginia State Quarter Horse Driving Champion for three years.  Then he became a trusted school horse to many young students.  If it was carrying around a beginner in a Walk/Trot class to competing in the sanctioned Quarter Horse Shows, he knows what his  J-O-B is.  He performed his duties up until 1996 when I decided to retire him as a school horse.  It is well deserved.

He happily lives out in the pasture with Rosie and is considered to be the "Grumpy Old Man".  He loves scowling at her, but it is all show, he really has a heart of gold.  He has been a constant at the farm and a winner of many ribbons for a lot of folks.
